To anyone that voted YES. If you have ever been divorced won't you also BURN in HELL??? You took marriage vows that said. "until death do us part". Maybe now we could all vote to make divorce illegal. You had the right to marry the one you love now STAY with them. I am the youngest of 4. I have three older siblings and combined ALL of their 8 marriages together do not add up to the time I have been with my Partner. You have the right to be married so STAY MARRIED!!!!

It won't work. It's a second marriage for my neighbors. They go to church and put out Yes on 8 signs. I'd like to ask them about it, but they haven't talked to me since I put out the following signs:
SAY NO TO
H8 CRIMES
MATTHEW SHEPARD
WAS STRAPPED TO WOOD
AND KILLED, TOO
seperate but equal is UNAMERICAN
To Do List
1. Deny equal access to government
2. Legalize hate crimes
3. Praise God
Why are we fighting
for freedom in Iraq
and denying it at home
SCORECARD
Bigotry: 1
Liberty: 0
Iran thanks you
for your
vote yes on 8
and
Victory Celebration
6p drinks
7p honor killings
9p praise god

Somehow you learned to type or we wouldnt see your stupid posts (Dam I am). If you can learn to type then you might try to learn to use both your brain and your typing ability in unison and that would spare us your stupidity?
WHATS SO HARD TO UNDERSTAND ABOUT THAT!

Gays Less Popular Than Farm Animals, More Popular Than Criminals
While California's gays hold their breath for a Prop. 8 win, the state's Prop. 2 -- which provides more cage space for farm animals -- looks poised for victory. And Cali's Prop. 5, which encourages rehabilitation over incarceration for criminals like drug dealers, is going down in flames. Take it as you will...

Although I guess we didn't have a horse in this race, our family voted no on 8 since A) it hardly seemed a priority given everything else

it was really important to many friends of ours C) the world didn't come to an end after the Court's decision D) we already granted the legal rights anyway E) the arguments for it seemed a bit lame (ie Arch will now marry a banana). Having said that, and having a bit of political experience, the No on 8 campaign was awful IMHO. It started late, coordination was poor, content was narrowcast, graphics were poor, no dominant imagery was developed and the visuals seemed sophmoric. The consultants to No on 8 lost this one for their clients, or else the No coalition was so fractured they did not ptovide decisions or directions. Frankly, I think it was the No on 8's to lose and they did.

I believe this is a chief reason why the NO ON 8 campaign failed. Opponents characterized all supporters as driven by hatred and bigotry, and made the questionable decision to communicate that opinion publicly, turning it into an attack. To an actual bigot, the characterization might have even been taken as a compliment. To most everyone else, it was a just an attack.
61% of Californians just elected a black President. It would be a stretch to call these people haters and bigots. Three California Supreme Court justices presented legal argument for NOT overturning Prop. 22. It would be a misnomer to call these judges haters and bigots. If Prop. 8 makes it to the nation's Supreme Court, it is likely 4 or even 5 will uphold it. These people are probably not haters and bigots either.
California, and America will ultimately embrace gay marriage. With a national election featuring a minority candidate as the favorite, and voter turnout very high, especially with youthful voters, this was an opportune time for the gay marriage debate to make some real progress and possibly even achieve an election victory.
But the opportunity was BLOWN. Like the Prop. 187 opponents who waved Mexican flags in criticism of Californians who questioned whether the state should offer public education and health care to illegal aliens, Prop 8 opponents trotted out their H8 slogans and signs to ridicule Californians who were still deciding on this measure.
There's been a lot of criticism surrounding the money spent on the YES ON 8 campaign, money that could have been spent on more noble causes. I agree with this criticism. But I am equally critical of the money that was spent by the NO ON 8 campaign. Money, and now time that was WASTED because instead of campaigning against the proposition, it campaigned against the citizens of California, who were to be despised as haters and bigots.
