has anyone else noticed the illegal b.s. going on at the store??? first off, last month i ran in to get milk, it was from Stater Bros. 1/2 gallon was almost $4. 2 weeks ago i was looking for something to add to my hamburgers so i ran over again, only to find that they are selling Stater Bros. chili, yesterday i went in to get cigarettes... no there not from Staters, but they are selling Camel Lights intended to be sold in a buy one get one free package... they had the odasity to sell them first off for $6 then to sell me a pack that said "NOT FOR INDIVIDUAL SALE" how fricken illegal is that. I went to Staters and spoke with their manager, he said " that it's absolutly illegal to sell the store brand milk and gouge the price, firstly because if someone got a bad carton they could sue Staters, secondly and Most importantly milk is a dietary staple for children, you must sell it for a reasonable price!!!" im in the process of reporting them to Stater Bros. corporate and to RJ Renolyds, not to mention the county!!! If there gonna sell shit they bought at the grocery store for outrageous prices, maybe they shouldnt buy the store brand. They can go ahead and try to cover it up, but i took pictures, hahahahahahaha, thats what you get!!!

Why do they not go to SAM'S CLUB or COSTCO where businesses go to get their stuff anyway? It's only a few more miles and there are much better prices.

Here goes Angelus Oaks again - bitching, bitching and bitching. Just take care of it on your own and quit making yourselves look so petty!

ummmmmm... no ones bitching, it was simply an observation on my part, and dont worry, ive reported them to the proper authorities...on my own... as far as "bitching" goes, isnt that what this is for????

Absolutely "yes". Much more entertaining than any TV drama (although sometimes people forget the entertainment part and take things much too seriously)

It's just another way they do business there. Did we ever have this much drama before TK and his stoolies?

AORobert,

I think the combination of Mr. Kunert's statements like "I'm the new owner of Angelus Oaks" and Bajaracr's advertising this web site at the post office created a perfect storm. There has been drama and gossip around for a long time... I can guarantee that my great uncle was stirring up lots of drama when he was the FS patrol in AO and Barton Flats 40 years ago. I've heard stories.

Some people are just too sensitive.

Quick edit to my last post- I think one of Mr. Kunert's comments actually read "I'm the new owner of Angeles Oaks"

I know that sometimes when the Green Valley Lake store runs out of meat they send someone down to Running Springs to buy some from Jensen's. However I don't really mind because I'd rather pay a bit more (especially during a white out blizzard) to walk to the store than drive down to Running Springs. Sometimes you have to pay a little bit more for convenience. However I do believe the store needs to stay within the law.
Too many local markets and hardware stores in the mountains go out of business because people shop down the hill to save a little money. But when the store goes out of business and the weather is too rough to drive down the hill most people wish they still had a local market they could go to.

mattcolver,

I concur,

I prefer to shop locally...

Yeah, I can get it cheaper at the "Big Box" stores down the hill. BUT, when I go into our local stores, they know what I need, provide me service and information.

My preference has always to pay a bit extra to get service from knowledgeable people who understand our needs.
