Well, the Yellow Pages here has about 30 pages of beauty salons, so I'm sure I can get a haircut with ease. How about old-fashioned Chinese take-out? I've been craving that for about 10 years.

Betty has her own thread! WTG!

Wolf spiders! I've seen them. I think I would faint if one crawled across my face while in bed.

My son has tarantulas climb up from the canyon he lives on.

Good Morning Jeanne, how is everything going for you? Still real busy? And the ankle?
Tell you what--I'll go with the wolf spiders over the trantulas anyday--at least they're smaller. Usually spiders don't bother me but when they get big and crawl around in your bed, well, thats a bit different.
I'll e-mail you today and do some catch-up. Just haven't been on the computer much lately.

Kats, I'm envious of your weather. Is your FIL visiting or staying with you now?

Good morning all!

Betty, DH's mom past away about 5 months ago. They lived in Peoria, AZ and that was just to far for his dad (at 85) to stay there with the nearest kid at least a 5 hour drive from him. So we moved him down to a beautiful park in Calimesa. It's been great for him with lots of activities and all in all he's doing well.

Oh, I too would rather have wolf spiders. I've found 2 black widows inside my house in the last week!!!!

OK, so there are spiders and snakes down here. But our ants have retreated, and I found my way to Bed Bath and Beyond in Victorville. Spent the whole morning there. Life is good.

Kats, I'm sorry to hear about your MIL. I seem to remember her being ill but didn't realize she had passed away. Its good to hear that you FIL is doing well though.
Abt. those wolf spiders--they look vicious but I guess basically thats all--just looks. I use to find black widows all the time when we live up the hill. Have only seen a couple since we've been here.

Lynne--how abt. that bed and bath--its a great store isn't it?
I'm sure you won't be obthered by snakes since you live more in town than we do. We've really not been bothered by them either--have just seen a very few during our time here and we have the house sprayed every month so don't see much in the way of spiders either. Mostly what we see is rabbits and crows but you know how dangerous those bunnys and birds can be.

Speaking of birds, saw my first roadrunner today. Recognized him from the cartoons! He bopped all along our stone wall. He wouldn't BEEP BEEP! though.

Oh com-on Matt--they have anti-venom shots now. Nothing to worry about as long as you can get to emergency in a few minutes or so.

I've seen a lot of road runners out here--if you go out into the desert you'll see them all over the place. We had a lot when we first moved here but the dang cats------

Hi Rowan, how ya doing? I have a tenny tiny question for you. I was reading the horoscope thread and would like to know--why did you guess Lan for a Scorpio and ya gotta tell the truth.

On a happy note--I just got back from the Apple Valley round-up days parade--my nephew was in it---very cool plus it was under 100 degrees. I don't know what it is with these country people--I was the only one there with my dogs. I did notice that a lot of people bought their horses though.

Kats, what happened to our old Barbie thread. I was gonna read it for giggles and laughs and its gone. We kept that darn thing going for months--in fact if I remember right at the end we were planning a Barbie trip to Antartica--going in a Rambler, weren't we?

Do roadrunners really go BEEP! BEEP! ?
Sent: Sunday, September 9, 2007 01:29 AM
Beep, Beep..beep, beep, the horn it goes beep, beep. Anyone remember that one?

I think the Road Runner went meep, meep.

Betty,

You're right the Barbie thread IS GONE!!! Funny I was searching for something else and came across part of it in the search. You know it's like when you search for short hair cuts for old women the search leads you to a porno site? That kind of thing...
Anyway, I read it only about a month ago. OMG we were FUNNY But now I think I left my funny at the grocery store the other day when that witch wouldn't let me back out of the parking space she wanted.
OM! What if I'm to old to be funny anymore!!

You know, I've wondered also if I'm just to old to be funny anymore. Perhaps its time for blue hair, big flowered mumu's and listening to Benny Goodman's big band music. And looking at it practically we're almost 40 now--maybe it is time to take life seriously. I KNOW-----we can talk about the seriousness of being a Barbie. To be an icon figure like her we probably should be serious--many, many children and probably men to, look up to us as Barbie's and we should be setting the proper example. Being a Barbie isn't as easy as it looks and maybe what we should be doing is letting the kids and men know that life ain't easy--not even for us Barbie's. This is just a little something for you to mull over.
