Mr. Derry or George Watson - can you shed any light on the notices now being placed in the burn area of Cedar Glen by the AQMD. I have not seen a copy but it seems like a Cease and Desist notice for any removal of foundations, etc. from what I am being told via phone calls. At this time I am only going by second hand information so if you could let us know what has happened and why we would all be grateful.

Here is a copy of the notice from AQMD. I did the best I could to avoid mistakes but will not guarantee that everything, such as phone numbers or websites, are without typos. We just thought it was important to get this out to our neighbors. SOUTH COAST AIR QUALITY MANAGEMENT DISTRICTASBESTOS REMOVAL AND DEMOLITION GUIDELINES

BTW and for your information. The AQMD "officer" said that he is assigned to this area until all the clean up is done. So he is driving around all the time looking for violators. My husband said he was very nice and reasonable but had to follow the laws/rules.

Hopefully the Supervisor's office will let us know what people can expect with these new requirements for the burn area. I believe that the Contractor bids are in now? We get a lot of phone calls so we like to have up to date and correct informatiion.

Saw the AQMD guy post a notice the other day and take a picture of his posted notice so there's no escaping it!

Has anyone been able to scan the notice or have one they could fax to me. I would like to send it to all the out of town owners.

There is also an article on the Home Page with the notice.

I was hoping to get a scan of the actual notice to send, but the wording will work.
BTW - the links given don't work.

Why are they doing this? I had my place cleaned up except for the foundation. We were going to use it future. Isn't it my property? How do we undo this? It seems illegal for the county to simply show up and take things off my property.

Illegal has never even slowed this county down. They tie things up in court for years and they own the court and bribe the judges with the illegal 20k benefit package. Not much a little guy can do.
Why are they just concentrating on CG? there are burned out remnants in RF and CL too.

OldGuy - I will ask Pat to leave a copy of the notice at the Trading Post. They can post it and maybe make some copies. He has some in his truck.

I know the Supervisor is busy with the fires and other issues but is there going to be an update to the people in CG about the AQMD problem? Timelines, what to expect, etc. It would be so appreciated. We had several people stop yesterday to ask what we knew when we were gardening. We have no idea what to tell them. Our community would appreciate some guidance. Even a reply that tells us you hear us and are working on it???

Coral -
It's being worked on as we speak as it has all week. I think it's going to work out without problems. As soon as we know, we will make sure everyone knows.
And I am sorry for the delay in response. I haven't had a chance to look here til now, both with the fires and then my son and I caught a really terrible case of the flu. Awful timing for sure.
Hang tight.

Sorry about the flu and hope your son is okay. Please keep us posted.
