Have you gotten your new and improved !NOT! water bill yet?
They were assembled and sealed especially for YOU.
These contractor "efficiency experts" have managed to increase the cost of producing our bills by over 50%. Then, if that wasn't good enough they and their office helper(s) slobbered spit on the envelopes to seal up the deal.
Not only do they back talk us and treat us with disrespect and contempt i.e. "YOU PEOPLE" but now they spit on our bills and charge us twice as much. A courtesy jar of vaseline would have been a better gift than "tongue juice".
WARNING Handle your envelopes with care. Not only is it costing you in the pocket but it may cost you some health risks.

And they still don't provide return envelopes. LOL.

Wear rubber gloves while handling. Then place them in a plactic bag to take them to a board member for them to open the bill for you. that's only fair!

Once I safely opened the envelope (YUK) and reveiwed the bill I found more comedy of
ERRORSERROR#1
About the 4th line down from the top of the page is a non-sensical character string - mine starts with "(B(B" etc...
Technically speaking I would call this a "field print error".
How many of you thought it was a secret message??

If you answered YES - then you are correct.
Professional software developers, such as myself, see this as one of the little clues that spell
I-n-c-o-m-p-e-t-a-n-c-e and
GarbageClearly these contractors have no knowledge or experience implementing, maintaining and least of all using basic simple software. This may explain WHY they lost 3 months of financial data. This is another expensive "training curve" we, the shareholders, are paying for.
NEVER, ever NEVER, should these type of errors show themselves in a PRODUCTION run. These errors are caught during the Testing & Quality Assurance phase of any software transitioning and/or development cycle. However, what it does validate is that there is a HIGH probability of GARBAGE in the database. GARBAGE produces inaccuracy therefore invalidating the Analysis of the data. Our RATE INCREASES will be based on GARBAGE data, therefore, nothing proposed by the Board can be trusted based on WHO has been caretaking the data - "garbage-in-garbage-out"
ERROR#2
The graph of current to prior year usage is C-R-A-P!!! Again, probably because of the "garbage-in-garbage-out" scenerio. My prior year usage is showing activity for months when my property was vacant! No, there were no secret leaks or any other "excuse". Plain and simple the graph is C-R-A-P!!!

Once I safely opened the envelope (YUK) and reveiwed the bill I found some GOOD things about the bill.
GOOD#1 - sort of
The message about the date & time of the NOVEMBER board meeting is printed. Considering we receive our bills BI-MONTHLY it would have been more impressive to see the dates & times of the NOVEMBER & DECEMBER board meetings!!!!
Sorry. Close, but no cigars due to poor planning and follow through
GOOD#2
I like that is shows the LAST READ DATE and the NEXT READ DATE.
Funny, I had someone on my property during the LAST READ DATE and they never saw anybody messing with the well exposed, easily accessible water meter cover. hmmm
Thank you for letting me know the NEXT READ DATE. Someone will be waiting and watching for the water company truck. Great heads up on that!

Once I safely opened the envelope (YUK) and reveiwed the bill I found some MISSING things on the bill compared to the OLD postcard bill.
Where is ALL the information that was on the backside of the OLD postcard bill? About the only item they retained where the stupid, renamed Service Codes. Whoopee!!!
There's an expression that floats around in the entertainment community: "There are no rehearsals, we are professionals."
These contractors - SonnyG & RG, have more than failed the audition 10x over. The show cannot continue to go on with these players. We, the shareholders, should not be in the business of offering scholarships? grants? to anybody that
cannot do the job! It's time to close the curtain on these charlatans and have an open audition for another troupe of actors. That is not a "dig" to anybody that may apply to work for our water company. At this point I would be interested in anybody that could at least ACT and PERFORM the part as scripted. AND, my preference would be that the candidate(s) be a shareholder and/or someone that is local to the community.
The Board has SOLD US OUT - Take the SonnyG & RG roadshow back DTH - besides you would be doing them a favor and saving them the commute time (they rarely make anyway) UTH!

My only immediate question is: What was the previous software and what is the new software? Based on this answer, it may answer a few questions or raise new questions... Anyone know?

Perhaps they should invest a couple of bucks and get Quickbooks. Pretty much does everything and it is so simple even a caveman could use it.

Oldguy - I suspect that they do, which is why I asked

Now that answers a question I have thought about. There is actually at least one Caveman in CPP. Or maybe more than one?
