A big thank you goes out to Mr Jim Tatosian and Burrtec Disposal, AKA: Mountain Disposal. They have donated a dumpster for both fields and 6 temporary card board trash cans to help keep the trash collected.
We certainly appreciate your participation to the cause.

Well we are just about ready. Volunteers will prep the fields today, concession stands will be stocked up, and the last minute details worked out.
We have a confirmed 8 teams registered. The games will begin at both fields at 10:00 am Saturday morning 5 September.
I once again invite all who may be interested. It should be fun for all.
Thank you to everyone who helped bring softball tournaments back to our mountains. And welcome to those who are about to experience the joys of our mountains communities.

The "Animals" have just won their 3rd game!!!!!!!! They have played 3 games so far today! Their (4th) next game is at 5p at RS. And then they have a game at TP, after that. Possibly even 2 games at TP.
GO ANIMALS!!!!!Did I mention that my oldest boy plays for the ANIMALS!!! Proud Momma! He is soooo handsome and a great ball player, too!

Congratulations are in order to all the teams who entered and played their hearts out in our first annual MSA/AMCOM adult softball tournament.
I thank the efforts of the behind the scene items that often go un-noticed but need to be mentioned. To the operators of the concessions, you are great. You kept us fed and quenced our thirst. I personally know of the work that went into your efforts and the expense you have invested.
To MOUNTAIN THUNDER, what can I say. This tournament team was well oiled and it appeared as if you have played together from birth. MVP recognitions go out to Pedro, Mike Jr., Charles and Vic. Awesome dudes. Undefeated in six games. You all should be proud, I know I am...
Thanks

Hey Beachboy, Thanks again for an outstanding event! Had we been able to pull our stuff back together after the long break due to one of our girls taking that ball to the face, I do think we could have taken it all. But my guys were dead tired from playing 8 games up here over two days, along with the handful of us that had started the weekend by playing 3 games on Friday night out in the desert. So it was probably best that we left a game early. Not to mention that as drunk as we all were, the checkpoint was setup a mile before the house. It was a long weekend, but we had a blast, especially with the lasso golf out in the parking lot.
The young lady who got hit in the face now has a broken nose, deviated septum, and seven stitches to her credits. And upon release from the hospital this morning, has agreed to play with us next weekend? I think it was the pain killers talking!

Our best wishes go out to your player who was injured. One of the down sides to the game unfortunately. We all wish her a speedy recovery.
Thank you and your team for your participation as well as everyone else who joined in.
Talk about fatigue, let me just say, I may catch up on rest around Friday or so. A labor of love no doubt. We made some new friends and shared our little secret place with a few well deserving individuals. Over all, everyone had a great time.
Thanks to everyone.

Thanks again, both of my teams can't wait for another weekend like the last up here.
Fatigue? We were supposed to play yesterday at The Yard with some friends from another league. By the time everyone left my house after the sobriety checkpoint disappeared we all called off, except for my shortstop. He had more in the tank due to not playing with us Friday, barely getting to the first game on Saturday, and getting stuck behind the accident on the 330 Sunday morning and missing the first game.
Should I be calling Joe and begging for another tournament around Thanksgiving?

Hey Beachboy, I've been talking with a bunch of the folks I had up for the weekend and every single one of them said it was the most fun they've had at a tournament in a long time! So kudos in that regard.
Funny thing about the whole weekend was I didn't answer my phone at all and had a team I play with out of Cathedral City calling to find places to stay because they went all the way on Saturday in Big Bear and had to come back on Sunday for Coed. They ended up winning it both days over there, but they paid a higher price and didn't have as much fun even with the lakeside playing field.
And Kym, leave me a good time to call you. If interested I need bodies for a fundraiser that is being held in Redlands on Saturday. Nothing serious, just a fun time playing ball all day (at least two games from what I hear) and the money goes to a good cause.

I think I can say, without much doubt, everyone who participated in the week end events had a great time. Well, except your mate that was injured, but after she is healed she too may agree.
The event was most successful in the respect that WE, helped raise over one thousand well needed dollars for our local Parks/Rec department. Every little bit helps and they have evolved into a willing partner.
Parks/Rec stayed in the background and I want you all to acknowlege their behind the scenes participation. Mike, what can I say. He installed a drinking fountain and helped me with anything and everything I asked of him. Great group and we thank you.
We also thank the teams who traveled to our little secret spot. I know it must have been a mystery before you arrived but it seems a trip well worth the effort.
Can't wait to do it again, soon.
