A bunch of us were at the south shore of Lake Gregory today and the kayaks, canoes, windsurfers and sailboats are ready to be rented. We told Andy that people on ROTW were asking about non-powered boats on the lake and we had him write down the following info - so, here it is:
Bring your OWN kayak, canoe or windsurfer and launch it at the south shore dock (Happy Sailing)$20 for the day paid to Happy Sailing, not the entrance gate. (Plus the $3 admittance to the County that you pay at the gate)
RENT a kayak or canoe for $7 per 1/2 hour
RENT a windsurfer for $14 per hour
RENT a sailboat for $15 an hour plus a $30 deposit
RENT a sabot (14 available) - forgot to write down the cost
Hope this makes sense and that we got it all correct.

So, wait! I have 2 sabots! Well, 1 and a half. I need a mast.
Well? Same as a windsurfer basically!
I would LOVE to get a little sabot fleet for bi-monthly racing if anyone is interested. Might even bump up Lake Gregory's Yacht Club membership if reciprocation and day fees are waived. I would join for sure!

Hi Joe,
From what I was told admission into the yatch (sp)club is by invitation only...
PS. I am enjoying your taxi chronicles, you have a gift of prose (and observation.)Please keep up the entertaining narratives, and hope all this overtime works out for you and Oranged.

Hi Schmo - use your sabot's at Happy Sailing for sure. I bet you could get a little fleet going in no time of locals who would appreciate days on the water. As for membership, I just heard yesterday that we are full to capacity.
Ditto the other post - sure enjoying your chronicles

I just left the south shore and saw three different families bringing their own kayak's and a canoe. Should be a fun day at the lake
