I am wondering what the laws are involving BB guns up here.
Where are they allowed to be used and at what age. Thanks.

I don't know what laws may apply but there are accepted rules of safety which may help.

Kids given access to guns of any type should first complete a safety course which teaches safe handling. Kids should be supervised by a qualified adult. Targets can be set up which provide something to shoot at other than birds, squirrels, cars or other kids.

Unsupervised kids have been known to start shooting at all kinds of inappropriate targets and parents can be held liable for damages or injuries.

From September 2007:
In the case of a juvenile shooting at everything that moves in his neighborhood, a deputy would more than likely factor in the issue of the possible danger to other persons in a residential area from the BB gun shooting. I’ll go out on a limb and say that I hope that parents are being responsible in allowing their kids access to BB guns and know what they’re doing with them. There can be criminal and civil repercussions from their misuse. And finally, Airsoft type guns don’t fall under the same category as BB guns.

Ronccp I agree with you completely!! When my kid were little, we took them to a gun range. We filled up plastic milk bottles with water dyed with red food color. Then 'an adult' shot the bottle. The impression has lasted to this day. They are in their 40's now. Being both girls, I had an easier time with this issue. But it sure put the point across. Guns are not toys and should be treated as such. I love target practice. But, in my opinion, shooting of living creatures should be left up to shooting pictures not guns.

Yes, I agree. They can be absolutely dangerous in the wrong hards, no question.
Are there age limits for unsupervised use of pellet guns, paintball guns, and/ or airsoft guns? Can any of these "guns" be used in the national forest? Backyard? Yes, and the target ranges, I'm aware of them already.
