I don't live on LiveOak, however, I do work there occasionally, and something needs to be done about the speeders, I do yard work, in RS, and when I work, I put out cones to let people know that I am there,. several times now, on LiveOak only, my cones have been hit, by people, that are going a good 50 to 55 mph..........and they dont even slow down, after they have hit my cones
please do something about this if you can.........I am definitely glad I do not live there..........sorry for the residents, that have to put up with these crazies

I have seen people zooming past me as I drive Live Oak and have wondered how they make it unscathed because there are a couple of turns that sneak up on you. About a year ago my son counted all the houses that had for sale signs in front of them and the count was about 18. We wondered then how many of these people had just had it with the danger of the street and were hitting the road.

isn't any street? And as far as the home's for sale, drive down alot of the streets now and you see the same thing....

hi Gnome. I saw you the other day on my way home - I sneaked past you at about 10 miles per hour. Yes people are idiots on the street. LORRS has been fighting with the CHP and Hansberger for years, nothing has come of it. CHP says they only have a few cars and are enforcing the highways (although with 20 accidents last year, doesn't seem to have helped there either)... SO yes a lot are selling due to the insanity.
And NO every street is not like this. People actually drive considerately on THEIR residential streets. Ours does not get that consideration. Straight off 330 going 55 or straight off 18 going 55 they continue the same speed even though they officially got OFF the highway and ON a residential.!!!

I wonder if you would get in trouble if you bought some of that asphalt filler and made some speed bumps?

MountainMomma, I agree, not all streets are like Liveoak, it seems to have been deemed, the shortcut, I am running late, get outta my way street to 330 and thanks for going so slow around me,,,,,,, I just wait to hear a crash and it will be me getting it every time, I go over there to work, even, with my well spaced orange cones which have been hit a few times, and I am off the street..........I think, posting a fake black and white, with a dummy in it, at various positions during the week, might work.........
thats, my 2 cents for the day
Have a great weekend everyone...:)

HI Melody. The Sherrif's dept does not have jurisdiction over the problem so if you have the time, post in CHP thread. Yes, Mountain Momma is right, this has been an ongoing fight for Y E A R S. I just spoke to Ofc Fernandez with CHP and they say they have hired a few more officers, but it isn't any time soon they will have enough to enforce as much as they'd like. I told him my signs were going back up, and he said maybe it would help. Anyway, he is very nice and equally concerned, so maybe if more people call and complain, they can pressure the state to assign more officers up here to get the job done.

Good Morning Lor_RS
well, I think the sign thing will really work, and how about one of those fake, policeman signs at intervals on LiveOak, if I had the where withall, I would def make up some for you, but until then, I think, big signs in
RED LETTERS, saying
SLOW DOWN, residents, pets, and children, dont want to be slaughterd would work.......just my opinion

have a great day all, and be careful out there

I worked on the KC-10. More recently on the DC-10. I love that plane. Lacing up the lower aux with old sticky glue crap getting all stuck in your hair. I was a fast lacer and I would tell the guys its cuz girls can sew. Ahhhh the dog house...with the jack screws govered in that nasty red grease.....gammah couplings in the tail section.....Then someone would scream "HYDRO!!!" and the horn would blow...pulling 200 circuit breakers in the cockpit complete with collars....don't forget to log it in the cockpit book...
