The Lake Arrowhead Community has lost a great man who worked many volunteer hours to help the mountain. His kindness and genuine love for this community will be missed.

Wow I feel like I was just punched in the stomach after reading this.

Bob will indeed be missed, may he rest in peace.

Please post any details on services. I'm sure many will want to attend.

I had the pleasure of working with Bob for the last five to six years on the Recreation Foundation Board. These last few weeks of his life had been challenging. Just talked with him last week, and he wasn't doing good.

I don't know another individual in this community that worked so tiredlessly for his community. We may not have all agrred with Bob at times, but it can always be said that Bob did what he felt was right for this community. He was involved with everything up here. This community has lost a true supporter. All my prayers to his wife Susan, and their family.

I have talked with Bob's wife, and she sounds good. She informed me that there will be a "celebration of life" on July 27th at San Moritz beginning at 2:00PM. Dress will be business casual.

In lieu of flowers, she is asking people to donate to the new Centennial Park in Twin Peaks. In particular, she would like donations to go towards the group shelter in the picnic area. It sounds like Rotary might be handling the donations, but that hasn't been confirmed yet.

Thanks for the info Jim. I am glad to hear that Susan is handling it so well. It doesn't surprise me though because she is one strong lady.

I know someone in the Rotary so I will contact her and see if she has an details about donations. If I find anything out I will be sure to post it here.

I recieved the following update from Dr. Patrick Rains, the new president of Rotary....

Rotary is more than honored to facilitate Bob's memorial. He was a member of our club and exemplified all that Rotary stands for; high ethics and service to the community.
We are proud to have had Bob as a member.

Checks can be made out to Lake Arrowhead Rotary Club Foundation, designate Bob Spoeneman.

Using the money for a community shelter at the Centennial Park is a fitting tribute to Bob. He certainly put a lot of time, effort, and his own money into this very worthwhile project.

Send checks to: Lake Arrowhead Rotary Club
