School Board Issues

This school district seems to know it can get away with just about anything. It employees and I am guessing 40 % of the Mountain. I have seen this disrict since 1980 do some off the wall things and nobody really cares. How about a million dollar accounting error! I forget the year but that what I read. But what really has me boiling is the Middle School that was to be in place so the Crestline children didn't have to do a bus ride daily of 45 minutes. The funds were supposed to used for a new middle School, What Happened? Who had the power to rob us of are tax dollars and make a puppet school out of Mary Tone. Does anyone care? Turn your backs and pretend it never happened. So many are good at that. After all most work for the School District. Maybe a 4th 5th 6th grade school was more important for our new middle school which was for 6th 7th 8th graders. Someone decided that we needed to use Mary Tone for,,,,,,,,,I;M not sure, I really don't know if anyone goes there. What happened to all the Money that was for building. The Bond issue I believe was 153 million dollars. I would like to see a complete list of all payments to the contractor and I am trying easier said than done. The Land was donated for LGE our middle school turned out to be a Elementry School. I will get the data as someone has it locked up real tight so you keep asking. The LG Middle school is Standing and with a few correction and a audit so we can expose the people who were in charge. They even failed to finish the Air Condtioning System. I know what everyone might think why would we need Air Condtioning. Well take a look for yourself when it is Hot outside and there is no circulation as this building is so air tight a bug can't get in. They did put the duct work in but someone stole the funds that were for the needed Air Conditioning. I know it was in the plans as they did place it in the entrance and the Principal office. I believe there were kickbacks and lawlessness from the top down.Why the change without the approval of the people who live in Crestline. Who ever has that power I can promise that you will find abuse in every way. This is a serious issue and I really don't think that there is anyroom for Jokers to slide in with unfunny comments. I wonder if we the people have the right to see documentation of what is going on with all funds specifically for schools. I believe we do have the right. I will do some research.

It is all public record and available at the county office. The district office should have copies, or you could contact RTA. Every year the teachers' union will review the books when negotiating their contract. I believe there is also a report generated by a fact finding audit and any bond measure that has passed will have documentation of how funds were disbursed. The minutes of the board meetings are also public record and you can request copies of those.

I know that Mary Tone is now Mountain High School and the building at Rim High School, where Mountain HS used to be, is now Rim Academy. VOE school wouldn't be able to handle all students K-6.

Mary tone was never for middle school, historically it only held 4th and 5th grade after VOE was built. VOE was never intended for greater than k-3. Mountain high clearly needed to be moved as it probably was outgrowing its space behind he high school and there was always controversy about having Mtn High kids and Rim kids so close together. When I was in high school the campuses were next to each other and it caused problems. Finally, the development of a junior high down here. One of the issues that has been raised is the problem of the kids only meeting one another from the two ends of the mountain once they reach HS. A long bus ride is not a reason to build a new school. In this community, it will always be a problem. Someone will always live far from the school. We have two communities that are very far away: CPP and GVL. Which one is more important? The rest are all within 30 minutes. There's no way to please everyone.

What ever happened to Lake Gregeroy Middle School? Is this such a hard question to answer.If the person who wrote in on how I can get my hands on the spending for each school out of the 1973 Bond Issue Totally idemized to the Cent I would really be thankful. And the Land purchase from the National forest behind our current Elementry AKA V.O.E. school that was to be used for expansion. I still have newspaper clippings say " Lake Gregory to start Construction on It's New Middle School 6-7-8- grades like normal.

Dear cathleen, When someone says they are going to build a millde school in Lake Gregory I wanted to be pleased not lied to. Or perhaps we just can't please everyone as you say. But don't lie to us and change the game plan on us without our full knowledge. Everything the board does needs to be published by all the papers on the mountains as we all can't attend your meetings. We need to aim at pleasing the majority, don't you agree. The lowest paid Teachers on record and the highest paid Management. The teachers are some of the best as far as I am concerned as I have 3 children, 2 remaining the first is now 24 and a graduate of CSUSB

The district my daughter works for posts the school board minutes on their web site after the minutes have been approved. I believe they also post the next school board meeting agenda. It would be nice if our district did this because many people can't go to the school board meetings. It would be a nice way for parents to be informed. The "closed session" minutes are not published.
