Bill Boone will be at Running Springs Calvary Chapel parking lot at 5:30 PM tomorrow (WED) to collect rycle items. He will not have the two toned green pickup because we forgot and packed 100 Holiday Boxes for the troops in it to be mailed Thursday. OOPS! He will be in the white Explorer with the back up :>) Thanks for helping us get all these boxes mailed. We will also be picking up Christmas decorations at the Golden Oaks Thrift Store on Thursday at noon. Thanks Running Springs for you encouragment and support of this worthy "ADOPT A BOX" project for the Holdays. Diane

Diane the Christmas Decorations have already been taken over to Calvary Chapel so Bill should be able to get them on Wednesday while he is there. Geez today is Wednesday, so I will get my donations over there as well.

Thanks folks who donated items to reycle last night. We can do this regularly, if you would like. Let me know folks. This is an easy way to raise the much needed funds to ship our care packages. I got a request for 800 more Holiday Boxes tonight. These Marines will be wanting our help for at least the next 6 months or more, so we have our work cut out for us. We still have over 200 we support regularly. Thanks RS for your loyal support.

When our boys were overseas we tied to send toys along with homemade cookies and other things we sent. It seems funny to send great big Marines and Soldiers nerf dart guns and such but it is pretty amazing how many stories we heard about the guys sneaking around a shooting each other. We have also send miniature artificial Christmas trees complete with decorations if any one is looking for different ideas.

Now that our three are home, where can I get a box?

Hi RS!
You can pick up "boxes" at the Post Office. Military Flat Rate and they are FREE. Calvary Chapel Running Springs has some cases if the PO runs low. WE have drop locations for the boxes at 1st Mountain Bank and Calvary Chapel. Welcome aboard our support for our deployed heroes. WE just picked up 800 requests last night from Marines in Afghanistan. Thanks for your ongoing support RS.

My boxes for the Marines are filling up. Is it better to drop them off at the church or at the bank, I notice a drop box there when I was in last. What is the last day to drop the boxes off.

The most convient spot might be the bank. I will go by there after Bible Study and Calvary Chapel Running Springs on THURSDAY. Can you have your box there by then? Running Springs, you are by far one of the greates supporting communities on the the mountain. Our mountain will have helped supply nearly 400 "ADOPT A BOX" boxes for our deployed military. That is pretty awesome. Our deadline for drop off of boxes is Nov 9, Monday. Of course we will continue to collect supplies after that. Remember we break from packing and shipping from Thanksgiving until Jan. 12, BUT we continue collecting supplies and $$$ so we will get a running start on 2010 :>) Love and thanks to all of you! Diane

It doesn't look like I will be getting my box to the bank by Thursday morning. I intended to drop it off this afternoon only to find, when I got home from work that the dog had a sweet tooth attack. The cookies my son baked were chewed right through the plastic bag they were packed in. I hope the dog liked the cookies, it will be awhile before he gets any more. He didn't even touch the beef jerky.

Folks, we will accept your "ADOPT A BOX" boxes next Thursday. I am up in RS for Bible Study at Calvary Chapel. You can drop filled boxes there at the office during the day and I can pick them up Thursday. Also, remember 1st Mountain Bank in RS has a drop box for 'TOUCH OF HOME." Thanks for your wonderful support of the Holiday Boxes. We will be continuing the "Adopt a Box" campaign at the requests of folks after the new year, so keep the boxes comming. Remember we ship year round. Love to all, Diane
