I live on the corner of Arrowbear Drive and Lonepine. Last night around 10:30 the dog started growling at the front door. Opened it to find a large bear popping the tops off my plastic garbage cans. Good sized bear. I flashed the light on and off and yelled a few times. The bear went slowly back across the road into the National Forest. Ironically, less than five minutes after the bear left, two women came strolling by in the dark. They passed within three feet of where the bear would have been down behind my truck. Wonder who would have been more surprised, them or the bear. Night walkers should use caution and carry some kind of light...it is a wilderness area.

Hopefully it's just "Arrow". He is our local bear that likes to go through our trash on Richmond Dr. So, to discourage his scavanging; we just put out our trash on Monday morning. "Arrow" has been spotted on Scola, Badger, Cougar, Richmond, and even crossing the Hwy. by the Fire Station in Arrowbear. I think it's a boy because I have never seen it with cubs.
