I have a daughter in Tennessee, and I turned her on to rimoftheworld.net, and she writes:
I went to the Rim of the World web-site. I was reading about the new law regarding hands-free cell phone use while driving. I hope we make this law soon. Just about every time I have a problem with a driver it is because they’re on the dang phone. Hate that!

I also bought a Running Springs t-shirt which will help the Releaf Reforestation project there. (I think that is a nice touch. Makes me kind of proud.)

Do we have any others that keep in touch with our mountain from long distance? How far away? What is the record? Weigh in on this one?

I do.I live in Rock Springs, Wyoming. We lost our house in the Slide fire in Oct 2007 and relocated to Wyoming. I looked at ROTW all the time as if I were home. I miss Running Springs so much and it makes me feel close even though I am so far away. I'm sure there are a lot of people who do the same.

It truly is a small world. Wyoming is the least popualated of the 50 states but Rock Springs is growing quickly because of the oil field job (thats the only reason we're here). The economy and real estate market is nothing the like the mountain or socal right now. Glad to be here for now but can't wait to come home. I went to Riverton recently, oh how I wished Rock Springs looked like that, but it's more like Barstow, CA

I made contact with mtnbean5 and gave them the info re: Mountain Area Tee Shirts. If anyone else is interested you may contact me at eldaphil@hotmail.com. My daughter found it here at rimoftheworld.com, and passed it on to me. It looks great! I'm gonna get one or two. Part of the purchase price goes to the reforestation project here on the mountain...Doc

Sarah, this is Judy! I didn't know that you still read these threads. I'm sorry that I didn't get to see you when you were down last month. I was on vacation visiting my son in Canada. But I've been updataed on what is happening with you. Give your family an extra hug from me.

Judy, the next taco Tuesday is either the 15th or 22nd. I will try to confirm this. I've heard both dates. Maybe we can get the Slussers to come as well...
