Any idea how much it cost to have a plumber come out and thaw a pipe?

If you can reach the area the pipe is in you can save lots of money and just use a hair dryer to thaw out the pipe. In essence that's what a plumber would do and charge you the big bucks.

be carefull using heat to defrost pipes. it is possible to heat water enough to crack the pipes with expansion if it is well frozen. Most times just opening the door under the sinks will do the job and leaving them open on cold nights.
There is also a danger of fire.

For pipes frozen for long stretches a charge from a portable welder is sometimes ran through the lines to heat the pipes enough to melt the ice . This can result in fire also.
