NOTICE!I just got a phone call from Mysteryy, one of the members of the site. In her travels through the Silverwood Lake area a little while ago she almost hit a dog. Out in the middle of no where, no one else around. For those of you who know Myst, you know she couldn't leave it. When she opened the door, in it jumped to her lap, and began to thoroughly clean her face, LOL.
Here's the deal, she can't keep it and asked me to post to see if someone can foster while the owner or, if necessary, a new human can be found for this guy. She said he's about medium size, 18 inches or so at the shoulder, short hair and chocolate brown in color. She believes he may be a pit mix (she really doesn't know for sure) and he's just a lover.
She's UTH but away from her house, if you can help please give her a call. She asked me to post her cell, if you can help out, please call her right away at 909-728-9396.
She says
Thanks and he says
WOOF!!!!

Dog is now in my garage. What a sweetie!! He drank a ton of water and licked Bravo all over his face. I have to take him to the shelter tomorrow unless anyone can help out. I hate to take him there

That's the way your new dog would want it!

Do you HAVE to take him there? Can he hang out with you guys until somebody is found (just a day or 2 or 3)?

Still have the dog but it will soon be too cold for him in the garage. He is obviously from DTH, not acclimated to our weather. I am going to try and hang on to him as long as possible but I can't for more than a few more days. He needs a warmer place to stay.

Mystery-Can you email me a picture and I will send it to some rescues I know of? jkmenell@charter.net. If you can hang on to him until he finds a safe place to go, I will donate a sweater for him. I also have extra blankets if you need them.

Hi Jessie, I will get a picture to you this evening. I listed him with one of the larger Bull Terrier rescues but would certainly love some help if you know of good places. We sprayed him for fleas yesterday and gave him a bath. Hundreds of fleas dropped off of him and he is now nice and clean! A sweater would probably help. He is pretty mellow and I think he would tolerate it well. He is now using the doggie door regularly and has not pottied indoors since. We are trying to figure out some way of heating the garage temporarily until a good home or his owner is found. I am amazed at how well behaved this dog is. I can't imagine anyone would dump him. He must have somehow strayed.

First post stated he was found in the Silverwood area, was it near 138? I bet you could leave a poster or something at the Country store on 138 near Summit Valley Rd. Or someplace on the road you were traveling on. You'd be surprised though, a while back somebody fostered a dog who somebody else literally saw thrown out of the car. He was the sweetest dog and was so sad. Thanks for keeping him safe and doing what you can. I'm glad you are able to do this.

Mystery-Haven't received an email with a photo yet. Need to know how big this dog is so I can provide a sweater. I also have a list of pit bull rescues I can email to you. jkmenell@charter.net

Just wanted to give you the good news! We took "Boxer" (that is his name) to get scanned. Turns out he has a chip and the info is up to date. We got in contact with the mother of the dog's owner. Apparently her son died. Did not get the story as she is still very broken up about it. Not sure how the dog ended up near Silverwood Lake, she was shocked about it too. They are from Torrance. The owner's uncle called us back. He is ecstatic we found the dog and will be picking him up tomorrow. I love a happy ending!

Jessie, thank you for the offer on the sweater, we found a vent in the garage and were able to heat it so he has been very comfortable in the garage
