bows head in silence
Terrible accident on I40 this morning...
Tour bus rolled... 1 DOA, 6 critical, multiple amputations, "tons" of walking wounded, per scanner from the first arriving rescue unit.
This occurred 5 miles East of Ludlow on Interstate I40.
My heartfelt best wishes go to the victims and their families!

FYI, those helicopters flying over Running Springs are the air ambulances flying the victims to Loma Linda and Arrowhead Regional hospitals.
This incident is still going on.

oh bruce, that's terrible. We travel that road all the time. Scary stuff. Are they transporting less critical to Barstow?
Sent: Saturday, May 17, 2008 02:19 PM
Nod, non-critical to Barstow. They closed the Ludlow IC a little while ago.
Was terrible to listen to this unfold for hours

I will say, the responders were on it!
They even flew in doctor and nurse to help triage.
At the same time there was another incident on the 15 near the Nevada border. They were balancing resources, Clark County and LA County came in to assist on the I15 incident.
That is my silver lining, hearing how dedicated all these responders are!

Bruce: Is there any link other than the above that you could direct us to? I can't find a single blurb about this horrific accident on MSNBC or google.

Binksmom,
I am sorry, I didn't open an alert on this

I should have, but the whole situation kinda paralized me
I just couldn't bring myself to transcribe all I was hearing

Perfectly understandable, Bruce. I cannot imagine the trauma being witnessed.
Sent: Saturday, May 17, 2008 02:43 PM
Wow, you are right, absolutely NOTHING in the news on this one

Well crap, now the Ncal News media is grabbing this... shame I didn't give ROTW the first scoop, eh?

Bruce: These kind of things happen all the time-I mean, different agencies getting the "scoop" before others. I want to thank you, though, for bringing our attention to this terrible accident. Our thoughts and energies are with the families of all involved.

"The cause of the accident remained known." Think that MSNBC ought to make sure they do some proof reading before posting articles? This is about the bus crash.
