I have 2 Red-eared Slider brothers that I've been fostering for a bit now. They were to go to a friend's mom's house. But the pond has been put on hold for a while. They're in a 40gal right now & seem fairly comfortable, but they belong in a nice spacious pond setting. I'm hoping someone knows where they can go? Thank you!

Dogdawn you should contact the Calif Turtle & tortoise Club. They have a chapter that meets monthly in Redlands. here is a link to their website with info about adoptions & rescues. They should be able to help. http://www.tortoise.org/inlandempire/adoptions.html

Please if anybody does take these turtles from you make sure they know how to care for them properly. RES (redear sliders) can never ever be set free in one of our local lakes it would be a death sentence for them & also could bring illness & death to the local turtle population. the pond area needs to be escape proof & predator proof (racoons will eat them)
I wish I had room for them. The area I was going to put my pond has a tool shed on it now. Tools are more impt than ponds (I guess??)

I forgot to ask how big?? do you know how old they are??
You can take a ruler & hold it above them measure in a straight line the top shell from head to tail. It won't be exact but close enough. I'm just curious.
Thanks

LindyM, sorry for the delayed response. Of course I wouldn't give them to just anyone, I will be very careful about who takes them. They're fine here, so just getting rid of them will not happen. They just need to get out of a tank.
I was told that they are about 3 years old.
