Homes Needing Dogs

My husband and I are in escrow, buying our first home. With the new house comes a LARGE, flat, fenced back yard. He has promised me a new furkid. We have a chocolate labe that is wonderful. So we want another one! I desperatelly want to help a dog in need. My husband wants a pure bred puppy and won't budge on that. Is there anyone out there that has a dog that needs us as much as we want him?
