---and to add on...Humane Society Of San Bernardino has low cost spay/nueter and low cost vaccinations.( even cheaper than what your regular vets charge- get yr pet inexpensively "fixed" and you can STILL go to your local vet for check ups)
Call HSSBV at 909-386-1400- make appt FIRST as there is often a wait list. then call POPCO - Cert from POPCO should only take a week or so.. If POPCO answering machine picks up be sure to leave phone #, PO box, type of animal , gender, age, name( yours and pets) POPCO assistance is "yours for the asking" not income based.you can request more than one.
$50.00 for dogs and $25.00 for cats. pls call Crestline Humane, and also Mountains Humane 909-337-6422 for addition financial help. all pets need to be up to date on vaccinations before surgery.
to NOT spay/neuter is irresponsible. period. puleeze take advantage of this info.

Thank you for the valuable information. I called San Bernardino and was told that they are not making appointments at this time. They gave me two numbers that I could call for low cost care. I set up an appointment, but was overwhelmed somewhat by the cost of needed vaccinations. I agreed to be a foster home and ended up with kittens. My brother-in-law went to the hospital and we found ourselves in time and money crunch. Agreed, I should have given the whole thing more thought before I jumped in, but we have grown attached to the cats and I'm trying desperately to get things right all around. Again, thanks for a little light.

Can you give some information about getting shots current before the neuter? They are so expensive.
Sent: Monday, June 16, 2008 07:09 AM
I buy, & administer my puppy's shots'
You can buy them at All Pet's Supply on Baseline, close to Del Rosa. Very reasonable, compared to Vets...

I'm starting to do that as well!!

Just let the Humane Society do them.... 12 to 16 dollars is not too much to pay for shots. They do them the same time as the spay or neuter...

If your only going dth for vaccines, its not worth the savings. It costs 20 per vaccine at the vet- if you save 4 bucks or so, its not worth your gas- unless maybe your doing multiple pets.

I could be mistaken-- but I don't think our local vets will do "just" vaccinations- I suspect they insist on an exam as well. The HSSBV- will do low cost vaccinations( no appt necc- but call 386-1400 for details, hrs etc and..to confirm what shots your pet needs) - and they will charge for JUST that...and no exam.
I know my vet charges at least $34 or so for exam only.

Isn't there a low cost clinic in Crestline once a week? I believe Dr. Raines does that?
Sent: Tuesday, June 17, 2008 10:06 AM
the little pet clinic in Crestline ( Alpine Mall) is an extension ( satellite office) of Arrowhead Animal Hospital. It's set up for the convenience-but can do considerably less procedures as it has less equipment. I'm pretty sure it charges the same as the Blue Jay office.

Please let me know of the cheapest vaccination place or if anyone is good at giving kittens shots. They are probably 12 weeks now. I have the three kittens and momma cat that need to all be done at the same time and that is gonna run up a pretty vet bill. Thanks for all the info for the spay and neuter, that should help out. They were not expected and my home was already full but I am a sucker and once I brought them home - well now I have gotten attached to the silly things. I would still be willing to find them a great home but it might be with visitation priviledges. Momma cat doesn't like other cats to much though but she does OK with dogs.

if u go down to the pet supply place and get the do it ur self stuff for vaccines it relatively cheap. it cost me $20 to get the stuff for 2 dogs. that was for the vaccines for both of them and the syringes.
