Happy Halloween....
Here is the info on the home finder dogs of this week at the San Bernardino City animal shelter. If you are looking to adopt, please call 909-384-1304 and speak with Jennifer, the adoption coordinator (or any available staff if she is not in). This information is as of 10/231/09, and if you are interested in any of these dogs, please act immediately as the shelter may not keep the dogs for very long due to extreme crowdedness. Please make sure to call before going to the shelter to ask about availability. It is very important that you call the shelter. There are so many more great dogs at the shelter.

Hope all these precious dogs find wonderful permanent homes!
It's that time of the year again -- getting cold. The dogs at the shelter need blankets to keep them warm in cold, windy winter nights since they have nothing that protects from the weather. If you have old blankets/towels you don't need anymore, please donate them to the shelter!

Do they have heaters in the kennels? I thought I read something once that firemen donated heaters for the kennels?

The puppy building does have heaters and they work great. There is also thermal heating under the ground. We still like to have blankets for them to keep comfortable. My pup loves a blankie all the time or shes our "Pup Sickle".

Someone asked about german shepherds last week. I saw at least 5 of them. Some may be mixes but primarily GSD. I'm pretty sure there were more than 5. I don't know if whosever was interested was able to come down to the shelter last weekend? They were in the male building and the female building.

Thanks Monkey for answering my question. Does the Devore shelter also have these in ground heaters? I was just wondering if the dogs had a way to stay warm besides the blankets as I know it gets really cold for them. I guess it's a little comforting to know that they have some source of warmth in these cold nights but it sure does make me sad to think of them in there.
