If you don't like Crestline or Lake Arrowhead, split the difference and check out Twin Peaks. While it's true there are few businesses in Twin Peaks, both Crestline and Lake Arrowhead are just a short drive. Maybe that's a good thing

Send over a 'full-length' photo of yourself and we'll let you know if you 'qualify' for our 'scary' class of people. First of all if you have more than 5 teeth your out. Brushing your hair more than once a month is way to much. Clean clothes? You'll stick-out like a sore thumb. We only bathe when June rolls around and the lake water is warm enough to scrub-up. Drugs? Lots of 'em and not all Prescription either. Alcohol? Go to Jensen's in Blue Jay, you'll want to become a drinker after you see all the stuff they stock. Such pretty bottles too! If you ever need a place to stay while visting our mountains, I'm your man or woman which ever you prefer.
Anymore questions? Don't be 'scared' to ask!!!

Scary people

the scary one are the ones that look good in a suit. like the one that look as if he work in a bank that kill some one in my family along with 5 other girls this man had 3 kids and a wife. you never know what some one is like by their looks. if you did you may have never move in with them or married them. DON"T judge people by what they look like. the people that live on the street. all are not bad. We do not know the circumstances while their living the way they are.

Hi Servant, your exactly right! Like those that 'claim' to be and 'talk' about being a 'Christian', they are really the WOLVES dressed in SHEEP'S clothing. I run away from them!!!

I posted this in the VOE room but fits here nicely too...

Once there was an old and very wise man. Every day he would sit outside Johhnie's in his rocking chair and wait to greet motorists and shoppers as they passed through his small town. On this day, his granddaughter knelt down at the foot of his chair and slowly passed the time with him.

As they sat and watched the people come and go, a tall man who surely had to be a flatlander -- since they knew everyone in the town -- began looking around as if he were checking out the area for a place to live.

The stranger walked up and asked,"So what kind of town is this that we're in?"

The older gentleman slowly turned to the man and re plied," Well, what kind of town are you from?"

The flatlander said,"In the town I'm from everyone is very critical of each other. The neighbours all gossip about everyone, and it's a real negative place to live. I'm sure glad to be leaving. It is not a very cheerful place. "

The man in the chair looked at the flatlander and said," You know, that's just how this town is."

An hour or so later a family that was also passing through stopped for few things. The car slowly turned in and rolled to a stop in front of where the older gentleman and his granddaughter were sitting. The mother jumped out with two small children and asked where the restrooms were. The man in the chair pointed inside and said "Harold will show you".
The father stepped out of the car and also asked the man,"Is this town a pretty good place to live?"

The man in the chair replied," What about the town you are from? How is it?"

The father looked at him and said,"Well, in the town I'm from everyone is very close and always willing to lend their neighbour a helping hand. There's always a hello and thank you everywhere you go. I really hate to leave. I feel almost like we are leaving family. "

The older gentlemen turned to the father and gave him a warm smile. "You know, that's a lot like this small town, that is why its called Valley of Enchantment."

Then the family returned to the car, said their thank yous, waved goodbye and drove away.

After the family was in the distance, the granddaughter looked up at her grandfather and asked,"Grandpa, how come when the first man came into our town you told him it was a terrible place to live and when the family came in to town you told them it was a wonderful place to live? "

The grandfather lovingly looked down at his granddaughter's wondering blue eyes and said,"No matter where you move, you take your own attitude with you and that's what makes it terrible or wonderful. "

It's your attitude, not your aptitude that determines your altitude. Happiness is not something you find, it's something you create.

Corey, that is the best post I've ever seen you write. So, in answer to the OP, no matter where you go, there you are.

hey the scariest/ugliest people are those that do not even SLOW DOWN for people in the crosswalks.
see the post re James Mainer.
We just had these really groovy white lines painted and lights that flash and still those scary ugly people won't pay attention enough to slow down and actually STOP when there is a pedestrian.
We should start getting their lic plate numbers, if they aren't too blurry from the speed they are driving!!!

Herblady - I was just commenting about the GREAT paint job and cross signs in Blue Jay! And people still don't notice!!
Say it ain't so! That is so disappointing. What does it take!

A big fat TICKET!!!
last year there was a car that STOPPED for a pedestrian in the crosswalk. The truck behind the car got too impatient to wait. He went around into the ONCOMING traffic on a very crowded street.
Everyone was honking but he was never stopped.
That's not just scary it's stupid!!!
