Morning Thunderstorms Bring Rain, LightningBy Scott Straley A surge of tropical air has moved into the inland valleys and mountains overnight, allowing for the development of showers and thunderstorms.
As of 5:30 a.m., National Weather Service Radar showed showers and thunderstorms scattered throughout the region. The heaviest of which were in the Cajon Pass and north of Big Bear and Green Valley Lake into Apple Valley. Numerous lightning downstrikes were reported.
The showers and thunderstorms are expected to diminish in coverage later this morning, however afternoon and evening showers or thunderstorms may redevelop over isolated areas.
