Ride in the Rocks Was Held SaturdayPresented by Mitsubishi Cement Educational Foundation By Michael P. Neufeld Lucerne Valley, CA - Mountain bikers from around the west were invited to spend Saturday, October 18 riding in the foothills of Lucerne Valley as part of the First Annual Ride in the Rocks. This event was sponsored by the Mitsubishi Cement Corporation Educational Foundation.
The ride will provide a course to meet every level of expertise. There will be a "Challenge " course that will put even the most extreme mountain bikers to the test, a 22- mile scenic course that will provide some moderate challenge while taking the riders high enough to enjoy beautiful desert views. Ride in the Rocks will also offer a 5 and 10-mile course that will benefit families, those who enjoy biking but just like to cruise.

The Mitsubishi Cement Corporation Educational Foundation (MCCEF) helps to fund learning experiences and activities for Lucerne Valley students that are above and beyond those provided by the normal school budget limitations.
MCCEF Board Member H.O. "Bud" Biggs explained in a prepared statement, "This year one of the many added benefits that the foundation will help with is to fund welding equipment for the Lucerne Valley High School Ag-Science Department. This will give additional training to those students who wish to graduate with the skills necessary to immediately enter the work force with confidence."
