Little Mountain Fire Suspicious (Update)Arson Investigators Seeking Witnesses By Michael P. Neufeld Update - Saturday 12:30 p.m. San Bernardino, CA - San Bernardino City Fire investigators are seeking the public's help in locating possible witnesses to the Little Mountain Fire on Tuesday.
In a media advisory, the department stated: "The Fire Department is asking the public's help with any information that would be helpful to fire-arson investigators, particularly those residents that live in the area of Little Mountain."
Investigators want to talk with anyone who witnessed anything suspicious around the times of 4 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. on October 14.
Witnesses are urged to call (909) 384-5388 with any information about the fire.
Update – Tuesday 10:20 a.m. San Bernardino, CA – Caltrans crews continue working on repairing guardrails on the 215 Freeway near Little Mountain as the California Highway Patrol begins opening traffic lanes. Meanwhile, firefighters report the fire that broke out early this morning is pretty much contained.
A fire investigator has been summoned to the area to look at possible evidence uncovered while firefighters were battling several blazes on Little Mountain that forced local residents to evacuate their homes for a short time.
Backfires were set near Shandin Hills Golf Course to help halt the advance of the fire.
Original Story San Bernardino, CA – Weary firefighters in San Bernardino have been battling several new blazes on Little Mountain east of the 215 Freeway that were reported just after 4 a.m. today. Fire officials estimate 250 acres have burned in the fire.

California Highway Patrol units and Caltrans crews have closed the stretch of the 215 freeway while a survey of guardrail damage is completed. A SigAlert is in effect for the area.
Backfires set by firefighters behind Shandin Hills Golf Course prompted numerous phone calls to authorities of an additional fire. Scanner traffic indicated a strike team was in the area.
