Hall Named to Recreation District BoardReplaces the Late Bob Spoeneman By Michael P. Neufeld Rimforest, CA – R. Pete Hall has been named to the Rim of the World Recreation and Park District Board of Directors to replace the late Bob Spoeneman.
In a lengthy meeting held Monday night at district offices in Rimforest, directors interviewed Hall, Elaine Slater and Bryan Ballew, Sr. before selecting Hall to join the board.

District Manager Bruce Irwin administered the oath of office to Hall, correctional plant manager at the California Institution for Men in Chino, after chairman Bob Reedy made the announcement to the three candidates and three members of the news media attending the selection meeting.

Following the selection of Hall to serve the remaining months of Spoeneman's term that expires in November 2009, directors went into a closed-door session shortly after 9:30 p.m.
Spoeneman, who was the Lake Arrowhead Community Chamber of Commerce's 2007 Citizen of the Year, died July 3 following a bout with cancer. He served as grand marshal of the 28th Annual Blue Jay Christmas Parade last December 1.
