Car Injures Mountain Biker

Transported to Bear Valley Hospital

Big Bear City, CA – A young mountain biker was struck by a car while trying to cross Highway 18 at Pine View Drive in Big Bear City just after 4 p.m. yesterday.

Eyewitnesses told dispatchers the young woman was trapped under the vehicle for a short time.

The initial call was dispatched at 4:11 p.m. and responding emergency personnel report the rider, who was reportedly not wearing a helmet or other safety equipment, was struck by a Toyota Camry.

The unidentified female rider was transported to Bear Valley Hospital at 4:21 p.m. Her condition was unknown.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the incident
