Honorary Mayor Russ Keller also participated in the parade and greeted people along the Lake Drive route that went right through the middle of the food and craft booths.

Once the parade ended, the entertainment began and a party atmosphere of Jam Days completely engulfed locals and visitors as they visited the booths and with each other.

A spokesperson for the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department reported a few minor incidents but indicated everybody seemed to enjoy themselves.

Original Article

Crestline, CA – When the 2008 Jamboree Days Parade heads down Lake Drive on Saturday, July 5, Reggie Bannister will be serving as Grand Marshal.

Bannister, probably best known for his starring role as the intrepid ice cream vendor-turned hero in the action-horror series, Phantasm I-IV, is also a local musician, actor, screenwriter, activist and Vietnam veteran.

"Reggie's career spans over 40 years in television, film and entertainment with a varied background that includes writing, acting and music," according to Crestline Chamber President Dave Lanham. "Since moving to Crestline with his wife, Gigi (Fast Elk), the couple set out on a mission to bring the filming industry to Crestline.

"The Crestline Film Office, which the Bannister's help create, increased local revenues over $100,000 in the first year," Lanham explained. "The Crestline Chamber is proud to honor such an outstanding member of our community."

In addition to serving as the parade's grand marshal, Bannister will be performing on both the July 5 Jamboree Music Stage along with classic original rock acts "De Castro & Bannister", "Nothing Matters", and blues band "Born Blue". On July 6, Reggie will be performing with Blue Grass phenomenon "This Just In" at the "Beat the Heat" ICS Sanctioned Chili Cook-Off at the Lake Gregory ball fields.
