Lyon allegedly kidnapped the woman in the 18000 block of Grandview Avenue. Deputies found no one at the Devore residence upon their arrival but reported the home showed signs of forced entry.
A description of the vehicle Lyon was driving was broadcast along with the unidentified woman's description. Officers were informed that Lyon was reportedly armed with a gun and that a restraining order had been issued on December 4, 2007, following Lyon's arrest for spousal abuse.
On December 25, 2007, Lyon was arrested for allegedly being in contempt of court for disobeying a court order. Then on March 10, 2008, Judge John Martin issued a warrant for Lyon's arrest for failure to appear on the contempt of court charges.
Through investigative leads and information obtained by confidential sources, investigators were able to determine the location where the suspect and victim were reportedly heading.
With the help of the California Highway Patrol Needles Station, Sheriff's Crime Impact, and Sheriff's IRNET, the suspect and victim were located and detained outside of Needles, within three hours of the call being placed to Sheriff's Dispatch. Sheriff's investigators went to the location and took the suspect into custody. The victim was recovered with minor injuries.
Among the charges against Lyon are kidnapping, burglary, assault with a deadly weapon and threatening a crime. |
